CHERRY BROWNIES INGREDIENTS

  • Brownie mix – family-size brownie mix (I used Duncan Hines Chewy Fudge)
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable oil Oil
  • Water
  • Cherry Pie Filling canned Cherry Pie Filling (Comstock Original Cherry),
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Heavy cream
  • Flour – all-purpose flour

If you are using a boxed mix, this recipe is faster and easier. However, if you prefer to use a homemade recipe as the base, that’s fine. You can use a boxed brownie mix and follow the directions on the box to make “cake-like brownies”. Remember that ingredients can vary depending on which brand of brownie mix is used.

You can also use another pie filling flavor, such as blackberry or blueberry, to create a different flavor of brownies. For your cheesecake-flavored brownies, you can also make your homemade pie filling.

Do not skip the cooling step, as the cheesecake will need time to set. The parchment paper overhangs can be used to lift them from the pan. After the Brownies have cooled completely, they are ready to be sliced and served.

HOW to make CHERRY Cheesecake Brownies

FIRST STEP: Pre-heat oven to 350degF. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper. Allow the sides to overhang so that the brownies can be easily removed once they have cooled. Set aside.

SECOND STEP: In an oversized bowl, combine the brownie mix with eggs, oil and water. Stir until well combined. Don’t overmix. Pour the batter in an even layer into the baking pan.

THIRD STEP: In an 8-inch mixing bowl with a handheld mixer set on low speed, combine the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for about 1-2 minutes, or until smooth.

FOURTH STEP: Add vanilla extract, heavy whipping cream and all-purpose wheat flour to the creamed cheese mixture. Continue to cream for another 1 to 2 minutes.

FIFTH Step: Dollop the cream cheese mixture evenly and randomly on the brownie batter. Be sure to leave room between the cream cheese dollop for the cherry pie mixture.

SIXTH STEP: Repeat step 5 with the cherry pie filling and dollop evenly onto the brownie batter between the cream. There should be some brownie batter visible.

SECOND STEP: With a butter-knife, make gentle swirls with the cream cheese mixture. Be careful not to dip into the brownie layer too deeply. The cream cheese and cherry filling should remain on top of these cherry cheesecakes brownies.

EIGHTH STEP: Bake 45-55 minutes, or until the middle is not jiggly. The toothpick should almost come out clean when inserted in the brownie portion (you shouldn’t see any raw batter). Don’t overbake.

NINTH STEP: Cool the cherry cheesecake brownies on the counter and then place them in the fridge for 3 hours, or overnight.
